Self Portrait Challenge: Cheers, mates
It was hard for me to find the joy in celebrating the holidays this last go round. Somehow all the things that needed to be done outweighed the possibilities for fun in my mind. Having a mad work schedule did not help matters.
By New Year's Eve, i begrudgingly gave into have a good time surrounded my my friends, bottles of bubbly and hand after hand of Attack Uno. I started to feel a bit more festive. There was dancing and toasting and laughing til the wee hours.
Sometimes having the most fun takes the least effort. I'll have to make a note of that. I tend to forget.
This photo is not perfect. It isn't even in focus. But I look happier here than I can recall in quite a while. And that in itself is cause to celebrate.

Very nice. The last shot may not be "technically" perfect, but the emotion is just right. It feels good just to look at it. :)

I love that last photo. Often, an Unsharp photo captures the intended mood much better than one of the same subject and composition that is perfectly sharp. Happy New Year!
